1. Oil Use
Diesel used in tractors is classified into several grades, with the grade indicating the freezing point. When selecting a tractor, ensure that the freezing point is 5°C to 10°C below the local temperature. In winter, switch to No. 8 diesel engine oil, No. 11 diesel engine oil, or No. 20 gear oil.
2. Starting
Before starting, preheat the engine by adding and draining hot water until the desired temperature is reached. While preheating, heat the engine oil and crank the crankshaft before starting the engine. Avoid adding cold water or force-starting the engine in extremely cold conditions.
3. Antifreeze
When the minimum temperature approaches 0°C, drain the cooling system completely after each tractor closure to prevent cracking of the radiator, radiator, engine block, and cylinder head due to ice expansion.
4. Safety
After starting, idle the engine for a few minutes. Wait until the water temperature is above 40°C and the oil pressure is normal before starting. Loaded operation can only be performed when the water temperature reaches above 70°C. Special attention should be paid to driving safety during winter. Ensure the clutch, steering, and braking systems are flexible and reliable, and that lighting and signal systems are in good working order.
5. Maintenance
Perform high-level maintenance before winter, including thorough descaling, cleaning, adjustment, and lubrication. This ensures the tractor is leak-proof, easy to start, and provides high power for smooth operation.
